After spending a few days with Susan and Barry Drury, we finally set off for Liard Hot springs!!!!!!!!
Relax at last......spa, etc.....yes I thought, till we reached Liard.......in the middle of nowhere ......hot springs!!!!
Not only did we meet Bisont, Mountain sheep (which are enormous) and Watipi(elk) but we were also told by the rangers that they had a busy week with bears as there are 11 around the springs!!!!!
Brian was ecstatic and I was a little less so, decided to go for a dip nonetheless.....and there it was, a big black bear on holiday too apparentely!!!
After a walk around the platforms for the springs, the rangers shot fake bangers that are supposed to make the bears flee!
We decided to stay a day more and went to sleep in the camping that night a bit scared of such wildlife all around.
I woke up in the middle of the night with a fright as the tent was moving and after I heard some growling I tried to wake up my "knight in shining armour" whith no result apart from a snor!!!!
'I lay awake till the noises faded away......then in the mornoing I tried to tell brian about the noises etc, telling him a bear was on our tent....but as always he thought I was being paranoid!!!
So I decided to go to the toilet and forget about last night when a mamma bear and 3 cubs just walked around the tent, I looked back and showed Brian with pride!!!!! I was right...as always!
After all that "relax" we decieded to move on and pedal futher towards Jasper and Banff, where we want to spend our anniversary!!!
Until now we have meet so many good people and we loved the wild animals but we really miss certain commodities, such as internet, tv and good food, as it seems the only food availiable is burger!!!!
I cannot wait to go to a proper city and have a spa and facial!!!!
And I miss my girly dinners and coffee but I am enjoying it here too with my crazy hubby xxxxx
