palmer-glacier view
July 15, 2011
After a smooth ride down a monster hill, which made the bikes run at no less than 60 km. an hour, we reached a beautiful lake where we decided to camp. We lit a fire and grilled some steaks. Shortly after going to bed it began to rain buckets. It did not stop for the next 12 hours. We slept nearly all throughout the rain as we were dead tired of climbing mountains the previous day. At the camp site we met some crazy Fins. One was dressed up as Kermit the Frog and the other one appeared to be one of Santa's helpers. Proud representatives of their country. Sorry Marjaana...
Today we started with an 8% climp up a 2 mile hill. With no breakfast and even more rain, we soon needed a break.
The rest of the day was all the same: roller coaster, up for 30 min. and down for 2 min. again and again... Well... Happy birthday, Brian! Fortunately we found a gorgeous cottage, overlooking a glacier. We forked out $100 dollars, but it was well worth it!
